A Success Story After a For Sale By Owner Mishap

Today I’d like to share a success story that every seller thinking of listing on their own needs to hear.

I was recently contacted by a homeowner who had listed their house as for sale by owner. They told me they had it on the market for $150,000 and went under contract for $152,000. However, after 30 days of escrow, the buyer could not complete the sale for personal reasons.

This is when the seller contacted me. I did an analysis of the home and determined that they could actually sell it for more than what they previously thought. I had my photographer take pictures and we priced the listing at $169,900.

I put my marketing plan into action and the home immediately got a lot of attention. We had several offers and ended up selling the home for $178,000, netting the sellers an additional $15,000+ after paying real estate commissions.

Now they are closing in just a few weeks. The appraisal and inspection have been completed and the rest of the transaction is on course to go smoothly.

Why am I telling you this? Well, the purpose of the video is to let people know that Realtors are not trying to take money from your home sale. We are trying to add value and, most of the time, we end up netting our sellers more money.
